Georgia Independence Day

On May 26th, 1918, Georgia declared independence, marking a brief but significant period of self-governance before later becoming part of the Soviet Union.  After regaining independence in 1991, this date took on renewed importance as a symbol of national identity and resilience.  It reflects a long-standing commitment to sovereignty and cultural pride.

Georgia’s history is rich with tradition, language, and a strong sense of community.  From its mountainous landscapes to its historic cities, the nation carries a deep connection to its roots.  Independence Day is a time to celebrate that enduring spirit and to look ahead with determination.  It reminds the people of Georgia that their identity has been preserved through strength and unity.
